Peter Cooley (urodzony 19 listopada 1940) to amerykański poeta i profesor języka angielskiego na Wydziale Anglistyki na Uniwersytecie Tulane . Kieruje także programem kreatywnego pisania Tulane. Urodzony w Detroit , Michigan , posiada on stopni od Shimer College , The University of Chicago i University of Iowa . Jest ojcem poetki Nicole Cooley .
Kariera
Przed dołączeniem do Tulane Cooley wykładał na Uniwersytecie Wisconsin w Green Bay. Był stypendystą Roberta Frosta na konferencji Bread Loaf Writers w 1981 roku.
Poezja i nagrody
Cooley opublikował kilka tomików poezji w Carnegie Mellon University Press . W 2001 r. Otrzymał Inspirational Professor Award, a w 2003 r. Nagrodę Newcomb Professor of the Year. 14 sierpnia 2015 r. Został laureatem poety Luizjany.
