Hugh Asher Stubbins Jr. (11 stycznia 1912 – 5 lipca 2006) był architektem, który zaprojektował kilka głośnych budynków na całym świecie.
Biografia
Hugh Stubbins urodził się w Birmingham w stanie Alabama w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Uczęszczał do Georgia Institute of Technology, zanim uzyskał stopień magistra w Graduate School of Design na Uniwersytecie Harvarda, gdzie studiował u Waltera Gropiusa, założyciela ruchu Bauhaus w Niemczech. Miał tam pozostać do 1972 roku.
Założył Hugh Stubbins and Associates. Jej następczyni, The Stubbins Associates, połączyła się w 2007 roku z firmą Kling z siedzibą w Filadelfii, tworząc KlingStubbins . The New York Times nazwał jego Centrum Citicorp z 1977 roku „według wszelkich standardów… jednym z najważniejszych budynków Nowego Jorku”.
Stubbins zmarł 5 lipca 2006 na zapalenie płuc w szpitalu Mount Auburn w Cambridge, Massachusetts .
