Jest to lista szeryfów z Derbyshire od 1567 do 1974 roku i od Wysokiego szeryfów.

Starożytny tytuł szeryfa wywodzący się z czasów Aniołów , niedługo po inwazji Królestwa Anglii , które istniało około tysiąca lat. W dniu 1 kwietnia 1974 r., zgodnie z postanowieniami ustawy o samorządzie lokalnym z 1972 r. , tytuł szeryfa Derbyshire został przemianowany na wysoki szeryf Derbyshire. High Shrievalties to najstarsze świeckie tytuły koronowane w Anglii i Walii, których celem jest reprezentowanie monarchy na poziomie lokalnym, historycznie w hrabstwach .

W dawnych czasach urząd był potężną pozycją, ponieważ szeryfowie byli odpowiedzialni za utrzymanie prawa i porządku oraz różne inne role. Dopiero w 1908 roku pod rządami Edwarda VII z Wielkiej Brytanii Lord Porucznik stał się wyższy od Wysokiego Szeryfa. Od 1068 do 1566 mianowano jednego Wysokiego Szeryfa Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire i Lasów Królewskich . Począwszy od Michaelmas 1567, Wysoki Szeryf Derbyshire i Nottinghamshire był mianowany oddzielnie.
